Pediatrics / Pediatric Cardiology

Dr. Pflieger has a broad and extensive medical background. He has been practicing medicine for over thirty years. Being equally comfortable in the field of Pediatrics, emergency medicine and Pediatric Cardiology, he has gravitated to a private practice where he can practice all of the above and then some! He has particular skill and interest in the field of Childhood Obesity.  Dr. Pflieger graduated from Penn State University undergraduate with a BS Biology, St. Georges University School of Medicine in Grenada with his Doctorate in Medicine (graduated in 1983 - and survived Operation Urgent Fury), training in Grenada, Barbados, New York, New Jersey and York, England.  Pediatrics training was at Children's Hospital of King's Daughters at Eastern Virginia Medical School); his Pediatric Cardiology fellowship was completed at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. He loves children and started his pediatric career coaching girls gymnastics (state, national and elite international champions) for 5 years prior to medical school.

Dr. Pflieger practices outpatient cardiology for the pediatric age group. He also has a large following and a special interest in obesity management, asthma management, and behavioral disorders at all age levels, including Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, depression and anxiety.
